A.M. MeditationsGETTING STARTED 1. Before you begin to meditate you must create a space in your home that you can use on a consistent basis. It must be free from phones, clutter or distractions. This is your “sacred space”. Next sit in a comfortable cross-legged position on the floor. You can place your hips on a pillow to allow your thighs to soften. If sitting in this way is painful, find a simple chair and sit with your back supported. You can light a candle to mirror the divine spark within. This is a good way to help cultivate a ritual of stillness and presence. THE MEDITATION Close your eyes and allow your heart to come into your awareness. Take a deep breathe or two into your heart and lungs, filling your rib cage. (The in-breath is called inspiration for a reason!) Women think with our hearts first and our minds second. Simply allow your heart to inform your thoughts now. Think of the mind as an open field of possibilities, whatever seeds your plant in this open, fertile field will grow throughout your day. (If there are unfinished thoughts that need your attention allow these to bubble up and clear. Sometimes it’s helpful to keep a notepad close by and jot them down.) Once your mind feels receptive to new thoughts, begin to invite an intention to be revealed for your day. If nothing arises immediately, it’s okay; be still and wait, one will arrive. FIND YOUR INTENTION What is an intention? It’s an energetic aligning with what you are committees to manifesting. As you play with each intention see how it feels. The intention that lifts your spirit and lights you up is the right one! Here are some examples: My intention is to receive life with gratitude and openness. My intention is to move through my day with effortless ease. My intention is to be an inspiration to others. My intention is to trust that I am being guided by spirit. My intention is to support myself with positive thought and action. My intention is to spread joy to everyone I touch. My intention is to be present and notice everything I think and feel. My intention is to be kind to myself and others. My intention is to listen to my body’s needs and honor them. My intention is to have a balanced day, including rest, exercise, laughter, work and play. My intention is to support myself in every moment by breathing deeply. My intention is to love my body, my health is my wealth. My intention is to honor my intuition. My intention is to be open to receiving abundance. INTENTIONS FOR FERTILITY: I am open to receive life. I am safe My body is balanced and healthy I trust that my journey will reveal itself to me as I step on the path of wellness I see opportunities and act on them I am present and notice that I am here now I am blessed with the freedom to choose I am balanced, whole and complete I nurture myself with every thought, feeling and choice My body is a vessel that I choose to honor and fill with positive thoughts, and healthy food choices I trust my deepest intuition and tune in to the quiet voice within me I take time through out my day to check into my body and release any tension I am unconsciously holding and remember to breathe deeply I nurture myself, and my needs, as I would my own child, practicing mother love for myself when I feel scared, sad or lost. I comfort myself with kindness I receive my day with grace I see obstacles as opportunities for growth and awareness I love myself, and share that love with others as I move through my day GROUNDING YOUR INTENTION IN REALITY 1. Once your intention becomes clear to you, you can choose to write it down because moving your intention from the thought realm to the physical realm will bring it closer to you. The powerful act of writing connects your heart to your hand. 2. Sit with your intention clearly in your mind and let it radiate through every cell in your body as if you can feel that intention alive and happening NOW. 3. Marinate in this feeling as long as you want. COMPLETE THE MEDITATION On the inhale sweep your arms overhead allowing your palms to touch way above the crown of your head. It’s as if you are reaching into the field of possibilities in the 8TH chakra and pulling your intention out of the ether and into your physical field. As you exhale touch your crown (your higher wisdom), your third eye (your inner sight) and your heart, planting the seed of your intention in the center of your heart. Take another deep breath in and seal your intention with the sound of “OM” (AH OH OO MM) with your hands still at your heart three times. OM is the primordial sound of the universal field of all things in the creative universe. Let this feeling and intention radiate into your day through your thoughts and actions. If you realize you’ve lost touch at anytime with your intention through out your day, simply close your eyes, take a breath and remember this feeling. Sometimes by returning your hands to your heart is a physical/emotional reminder to reignite your intention. In Yoga the in-breath is called inspiration. Whenever you need to inspire yourself, take an “in breath” and remember that you and your intention are the source of your own “inspiration”. BONUS TIP A word about the 2nd chakra or seat of creation Our second chakra rules the reproductive organs, sexuality, creativity and our ability to generate life, to nurture ourselves and life itself. Expanding your awareness of your belly through out your day will give you a road map to your own intuition. Simply notice: Is your belly tight, are you holding tension there? Or are you soft bellied and trusting? As you practice the A.M AND P.M YOGA MEDITATIONS FOR WOMEN allow your pelvis and belly to feel rooted to Mother Earth. This will anchor your divine feminine wisdom in your body and allow you to access your “gut” instincts through out your day. |
